The most commonly used boat building material today is fiberglass reinforced polyester resin. The material is characterized by high strength and low weight. The smooth outer skin is the protective gel coat made of polyester resin. Its sensitivity to UV radiation causes expulsion of the gelcoat. However, regular care with the right polishes and Swissvax Gelcoat Infusion Wax can prevent this process for many years.
